This page explains what information the North Idaho Militia website (northidahomilitia.com) collects, how it’s used, and who can see it. We’re a small volunteer organization, not a company selling anything, so our data practices are pretty limited — this page is here for transparency, not because we’re doing anything complicated with your information.

Information We Collect

Account and membership information. If you register for a member account to access gated content (like our MOS pages or Training Material), we collect the username, email address, and password you provide. This is used only to manage access to member-only areas of the site.

Contact form submissions. If you fill out a contact form on the site, we collect whatever information you provide (name, email, message) so we can respond to you. This is handled through WPForms and is not shared outside the group.

Site usage statistics. We use WP Statistics to get a general sense of how many people visit the site and which pages are popular. This data is aggregated and stored on our own server — it is not sold or shared with outside advertisers.

Security logs. We use Wordfence Security to protect the site from spam, hacking attempts, and malicious traffic. This may involve logging IP addresses of visitors for security purposes only.

Cookies. Like most websites, we use cookies to keep you logged in and to remember basic preferences. You can disable cookies in your browser, though some parts of the site (like member login) won’t work properly without them.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to run the site, manage member access, respond to inquiries, and keep the site secure. We do not sell, rent, or trade visitor or member information to third parties, and we don’t use your information for advertising.

Who Has Access

Member account information is accessible only to site administrators. Contact form submissions go to the relevant point of contact for that form. We don’t share your information with outside organizations except where required by law.

Data Retention and Security

We keep account and contact information only as long as it’s useful for the purposes above. We take reasonable security precautions (including Wordfence monitoring) to protect the site and the information on it, but no website can guarantee complete security, so please don’t submit sensitive personal information through public forms.

Children’s Privacy

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this page from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent changes.
